Privacy Policy

It is the policy of the Society to respect its members’ privacy, and not to use personal information other than for the purposes for which it was given or without the members’ permission. Contact details including addresses and telephone numbers of members will not be made publicly available, and will only be given to other members of the Society with a member’s permission. To that end, there is a space on the membership application form for members to indicate whether they give this permission.
Members’ contact details will be used for the purposes of the Society and its committee contacting members in relation to the activities of the Society, including transmitting details of the Society’s meetings and other information, and administrative issues including the sending out of subscription notices. It is intended that the “members only” section of the Society’s website should be just that – accessible only to members of the Society for the purpose of contacting and interacting with other members. Any member with specific concerns relating to privacy is invited in the first instance to contact the Secretariat acting as the website administrator, mlsv@mlsv.org.au, or the Honorary Secretaries (whose contact details are available elsewhere on this website).
The Society is committed to ensuring that the personal information held about you is maintained in a form that is accurate, complete and up to date. Please contact us whenever there is a change to your personal information, or as soon as you become aware that the details we have about you require updating. The Society will then take all reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate and current.
Members’ credit card details will be used only for the purposes of processing payments for membership of the Society and for meetings of the Society.
The Society will not distribute, sell or rent your personal information to any outside company for marketing or any other purpose (excepting use to support your relationship with the Society and any affiliated entities).
The Society takes reasonable precautions to protect personal information it holds from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
